Li Shang FTW. And no, not just because I’m Asian. He clearly was a feminist ally.
social media experts
You know who social media experts are?
Social media experts are individuals who have high levels of self-control. They are the people who can spend all day on social media without wasting hours surfing their own personal circle of profiles. They’re the ones who see that Sally from middle school posted pictures of her new dog but refrain from clicking on the photo album. Instead, Sally...

I may be 15 too late, but the internet is full of shenanigans.
And that’s ok.

How you know you are a baseball fan
When you see a tweet from a rookie member of your favorite baseball team (SF Giants!) saying that he’ll be in your town (DC!) for a development program and you’re sad that you can’t be there, even though it’s not like they’re going to play a game against the Nats. You revere baseball players as though they are true celebrities.
(That’s me.)

Do you ever think to yourself, “What the hell have I done in the past year that was remarkable?”
I know I posted a while back about my 2011 accomplishments, but that doesn’t help when you log onto Facebook and see what everyone else is doing.
One of the big reasons why I don’t check Facebook often is because I get bombarded with two types of posts. The first type is the...

Has anyone else noticed how convoluted Facebook has become? A friend and I were trying to figure out how to make her tagged pictures accessible again. After half an hour of clicking on every button imaginable, it turns out that you have to change the settings for every single picture.
Facebook isn’t the first to do this to us. Think of all the new layouts of Twitter that we’ve been...

The 10 Types of Foodies →
I am most certainly The Anti-Snob. Humble yourself, how many of you are a Food Pornographer? I’m only accusing you because this is Tumblr, after all.
Hair confession
I miss my bangs. I spent all these months keeping my haircut in a style appropriate for longer/lack-o-bangs and now that I have it, but I’m bored. I miss that no matter what I did with my hair it all looked good because most of the hair on my head was part of the bangs.
I got rid of my bangs because I wanted to see what my forehead looked like. I was at a point where I wouldn’t...

Pinterest
I just don’t get it. It just seems like Tumblr with a little bit of Delicious (even though that’s dead now) flair thrown in. What’s so special about it that’s got everyone and their mom opening an account?
Can someone please explain Pinterest to me?

2011: Year in Review
In 2011, I:
started my second real person job
stopped eating Spaghettios *sad face*
started drinking soda again *double sad face*
visited San Francisco to cure homesickness, but the symptoms reappeared within 4 months
put Lancelot on a leash
developed a new love for my former town, Baltimore
spent Valentine’s Day alone by going to a OFWGKTA show and now I no longer worry about going...

Dear Santa,
(or whoever controls the seasons)
I love winter more than summer. I sweat a lot less, for one. But does it have to be so dark in winter? It makes it difficult to pull myself out of bed in the morning.
Alternatively, you can also gift me a better alarm clock.
Your friend, Bella
P.S. Why is it 60 degrees one day before Christmas? Please ask your friend the weatherman.

sweatpants
Sweatpants will always be ugly, but the most comfortable things you can wear. And that’s okay.
Or more like, I’m okay with that.

I would like to think we encourage all the possibilities of who he may become....
– Amelia (Huffington Post)
Sweetest thing I’ve read in a while. I hope the new generation of parents emerging are all like Amelia.
