Real World DC
What am I going to do with you? I don’t have shows (except for The Ultimate Fighter) but I want to keep watching to see if I recognize anyone in the bar/club scenes.
But let me tell you, the premiere episode showed how annoying the cast was. They were more annoying (and as my friend Jordan put it, naive) than freshman during welcome week. Ugh.

In Nevada, telemarketers are allowed to call everyday at any hour. Including Sundays and the conventional dinner hours. I am stuck at my parent’s house for winter break. Needless to say, I am very annoyed at having to hear the phone ring every 20 minutes, letting it go to voicemail, and then having to hear the voicemail record.
Why do my parents still have a landline anyways?

John Mayer’s Tumblr. My life is closer to complete.
Instead of writing my teaching app essays, I’m going through old facebook pictures/profile stalking. I’ve never felt this odd sensation before. It’s a mix between “thank god that’s over” and “damn, i wish i could redo it.”
And I thought trying to explain to the world why I want to be a math teacher was confusing enough…

Report from the Senate — early 7AM vote this...
thepoliticalpartygirl:
I couldn’t be there (even though I got cleared for a gallery pass!) because I’m on Cape Cod, but here’s a quick email from a friend who was in the Senate for the vote this morning:
Just a quick report from the Senate - early 7AM vote this morning. Sen. [redacted] arranged my viewing final health vote from front row of gallery.
Funny: Reid accidentally voting No,...

I need to complete these essays for the teaching programs I’m applying for. I’m at a point of no return since I’ve asked people to write letters of recommendations for me. These people are people who want more than anything to see me succeed as an educator.
But I have major writers block. I just went another day without adding to any of my essays. BLAHHHHHHH

Yeah Yeah Yeahs- Maps (Acoustic version) →
I came across an acoustic version of this song today on Hype Machine. I know it gets a lot of Tumblr hate, but seeing as I just blogged about how great this song was just the other day, I decided Tumblr world should also know about this version. I like it. Not as much as everyone else seems to though; I still prefer the original.

Vegas bound
I did horrible on the calc final/overall class. So to get my mind off it I went shopping and racked up a ridiculous tab at various bars across DC this weekend.
Still bothers me, but there’s nothing I can do.
And now I can’t concentrate on studying for my last final because “Meet the natives” is on and it’s so entertaining.
Chef Geoff’s with the lil bros, or as one of them calls it “Cheffrey Geoffrey.” I’m sad to give up a prime location in the library, but burger consumption awaits.

Partial Test Ban Treaty - stolen from my professor’s slides (whose final is tomorrow morning!)
The idea for Partial Test Ban Treaty was proposed by President John F. Kennedy at the American University graduation in June 1963. (See the plaque in front of soccer field.)

The Meta-nerd
A new name for my beloved Tumblr as I continue to fall in love with Tumblr. My reasoning after the jump.
Completely inspired by the Paste magazine “Evolution of the Hipster” spread, I feel like it encompasses me and what I post on Tumblr. If I like it well enough, I might even change that to my Tumblr link/username. Please don’t sue me for plagarism, Paste. Otherwise, I may...
The electric plug doesn't work in the student...
and my laptop is about to run out of its juices! I hate finals week, all the kids who don’t do any work all semester crowd all the good studying spots. The regulars who have no life (like me) get shut out.
And I made it home in time last night from the Wale show to watch the Ultimate Fighter finale. The rerun was scheduled until 4am. I fell asleep waiting for the finale fight around 3:15....
The Ultimate Fighter 10 finale tonight!
or the Wale show?
maxistentialist:
Each term in the Fibonacci sequence is derived by adding the two preceding terms:
0, 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21 …
Remarkably, you can use successive terms to convert miles to kilometers:
8 miles ≈ 13 kilometers 13 miles ≈ 21 kilometers
This works because the two units stand in the golden ratio (to within 0.5 percent).
