When I was little, I owned a video about rollercoasters and other thrill-seeking adventures. It was essentially a 30 min music video that attempted to allow children to feel the adrenaline of taking risks.
One segment that repeated throughout was of a man who was walking up the cables on the Golden Gate Bridge. He wore a belt that connected him to these ropes on either side of the steel tube so he wouldn’t fall. I think the goal was to get to the top of one of two giant section divider thingy. I imagine this is what he saw when he looked down.
I also imagine that he wouldn’t have been the type of guy to look down. People who pull stunts like that know to not look down. Only a masochist like me who is afraid of heights would think about looking down. So note to self, never look down.
