Happy Holidays! Its taken me a while to get into the holiday spirit, but I finally have. I was resigned to spending Christmas alone like every year. My family never celebrated holidays so I don’t have any must-celebrate traditions. But this year I had a friend who was in a similar boat as me, except she really wanted to celebrate. So I offered to host a small stocking stuffer gift exchange luncheon. I bought gifts. I bought stockings. I sororit-ized them with names written in glitter glue. I broke out my best friend’s family lasagna recipe because it reminded me of her Christmas surprise for me last year. And that’s when it hit me. The holiday spirit got me. I’m making my own traditions: stockings, glitter glue, lasagna. I didn’t even realize it. So here’s to a happy holiday season to you and yours. May it bring happiness, health and new traditions in the new year.
